What It Is:
Students can now share real feedback without being limited to that pesky 10-point scale. The ParsecReel Student Voice App is a platform to amplify your voice with text, audio, and video response formats.

The Problem:
If you have felt frustrated taking surveys with confusing questions, or with pre-filled responses that don’t match with how you really feel- you are not alone. We hear time and time again how frustrated students (and adults!) feel about being forced to take surveys like this. The likert scale way of giving feedback is effective for some things, but in understanding student sentiment, it falls short. It is clear that a new way to collect student feedback is a must.

Campus Culture Visibility:
With unprecedented levels of anxiety and depression facing students, there is a growing need to understand what a healthy campus culture looks like. In order to implement the necessary support and resources, administrators need more visibility on the day to day happenings. The goal of ParsecReel is to amplify student voices, closing the gap between admin and students. This then makes it possible for administrators to hear directly from students, giving them greater clarity of the best actions to take to improve student well-being on campus and overall student outcomes.

Insights from the Unheard:
Rather than just looking at what the majority of students are saying, the technology behind this application uses AI to pull out insights from those students that may not normally be heard. This creates greater opportunity for meaningful and equitable change.

The Technology:
The ParsecReel system takes the sentiments shared by students and captures critical themes to summarize our students’ needs more clearly than ever. The result? More thorough and open communication between students and administrators and greater opportunities for students to speak up about the change they want to see.

Benefits of the ParsecReel System:
- Engages students with questions they care about
- Decreases response bias
- Encourages honesty & transparency
- Crafted intentionally for students
- Calls out patterns & themes for administrators
